Born in Jackson, Mississippi, Judge McBryde was appointed to the Northern District of Texas in 1990 by President George H.W. Bush. Judge McBryde graduated in 1953 with a B.S. from Texas Christian University, and received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1956.
From 1956 to 1969, Judge McBryde was an Associate, then Partner, with Cantey & Hanger in Fort Worth, Texas. From 1969 until his appointment to the Federal bench in 1990, he was a Partner with McBryde & Bennet, also in Fort Worth.
